I’ll admit it, I’m late to this party. The blogging phenomenon is hardly new and I have many friends who have blogged for years, (particularly Tripp at madeofglass.com who was blogging before there was a trendy term for it) but I can’t say I was ever really interested in joining them. Funny how picking up stakes and moving 4,000 miles away can change priorities. With everyone skipping around the internet now (hi Mom and Dad!) it seemed like a good time to join the party and a good way to stay in touch with all of our friends and family. Both HDE and myself have higher aspirations for our blogging (my wife is the ambitious one on this subject), and perhaps this will lead somewhere. At the very least it will allow for venting, sharing a laugh and the odd baseball rant. So welcome, friend, and we hope to hear a response from you soon!

I’m glad you’re keeping a blog. In fact, just a few minutes before Elisa sent me this URL I was thinking about you guys. I look forward to keeping up with you via the blog for the next six weeks or so until we get to hang out! We’ve got our tickets and are anxious to leave!

Hi JEE and HDE. I was very happy and surprised to find this blog this morning. Yesterday I picked up dad at the airport around 3:30 pm and guess where we headed? Yep, stopped at Cracker Barrel which by the way was conveniently on our way back home. He slept well last night but is now sleeping off jet lag on the couch. The pictures you sent are very beautiful and we can’t wait to see some of these sites in person in a couple months. It is a rainy day here, so we may build a fire and cozy in. I’m very glad you set up this blog. It will be wonderful keeping up with you.

Hi! From what I can tell you both are having a great time – unfortunately, I don’t speak the language you wrote your blog in. Can you translate to Freshman English words of 10 letters or less? The pictures are beautiful and love to hear about your adventures. Kim

Yep, nothing but fancy-pants British English around here!
